“This blog and my work on the upcoming Dog Bite Prevention Week is dedicated to Ashlynn Anderson. On February 28th 2010, Ashlynn was attacked and killed by a dog. Her grandfather Don Wing and father Ryan have set up an organization called DADD (Dads Against Dangerous Dogs) in her memory, to raise awareness and educate children and adults so that this kind of tragedy does not happen again. I have had the honor of meeting and working with this brave family. Even though attacks of this nature are rare compared to the number of dogs in the United States, one fatality is too many. May Ashlynn live on in the hearts of those you love her and teach families and children all over the world to be safe around all animals.”

Thanks to everyone who made it out to our first ever Annual Beach Walk! We can’t thank you enough for all of the support. We had a great turn out. See some pictures from the wonderful day that raised over $1,500!
Great news everyone! After a recent article that was published after our initial launch in February, 2011, Victoria Stilwell from Animal Planet’s “It’s Me or the Dog” offered her assistance in our mission to increase public awareness and promote responsible pet ownership. She is currently working on preparing our educational program that will be presented in seminars.
We feel incredibly blessed to have such a valuable new addition to our team! We will keep you updated about our progress and work with Victoria.
Another child fell victim to a dog attack just recently. Our thoughts and prayers go out to the family of Ayen Chol, who sadly passed away in August, 2011.
